Ben Thompson
CEO

Ben Thompson is the Chief Executive Officer of EI. Ben is a qualified solicitor with a passion for business. Ben’s career started at the Sydney Futures Exchange and other financial institutions. He was closely involved in some of the UK’s best known dot com start ups and initial public offerings.  Ben returned to Australia in 2002 to add legal services to the family business, EI.  Ben is a self confessed geek and thrives on creating innovative solutions that combine employment and technology to help Australia’s employers.


Patricia Ryan
Managing Solicitor

Patricia Ryan is a solicitor with over thirty years’ post admission experience gained in both private practice and in-house roles. She also holds qualifications in human resource management and industrial relations and aims to provide clients with practical solutions to the issues that arise in the workplace. Patricia is the Managing Solicitor of EI’s legal services and leads the team of workplace solicitors and consultants who provide advice and support to our clients and members.


Dimitra Karas
General Manager, HR & Payroll

Dimitra Karas is the General Manager of EI’s HR and Payroll services. Having joined EI in 2002 after completing a Bachelors of Business degree, Dimitra has extensive experience in working with and understanding the requirements of small to large sized businesses in the areas of HR and industrial relations. Her main focus is on providing clients with specialist advice and tailored strategic solutions that are cost effective and easy to implement, which in turn provides business owners peace of mind and the opportunity to focus on running their business.


Mark Robinson
General Manager, Power2Motivate

Mark Robinson is the General Manager of Power2Motivate Asia Pacific and is responsible for the P2M operation in the APAC region delivering world class employee recognition and B2B loyalty programs to a wide range of clients. Before moving to Australia, Mark worked for a FTSE100 listed organisation in the UK for almost 9 years, in a variety of Brand Management and HR functions. Mark is also a full member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and holds a degree in Business Management (BA Honours) from Newcastle University (UK).


Shane Duffy
Senior HR Manager

Shane Duffy is a Senior HR Manager at EI, with a strong background in Industrial Relations and forming consultative HR-business partnerships. His primary role involves forging partnerships with operational managers and business entrepreneurs across the company’s client base and managing the delivery of broad, innovative and tailored HR services and strategy to meet their ongoing needs. In addition, he oversees the internal HR function for EI. Shane holds a Bachelors degree in Economics & Industrial Relations and has also attained postgraduate qualifications in Legal Studies.
